The typical cycle of a consulting project includes the phases of: Assessment, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. This cycle in its many variations is core to program planning across the spectrum of public and private sectors and content disciplines. I have over 17 years managing projects across every stage of the planning cycle.

General Facilitation: I utilize a wide range of facilitation models such as scenario planning, appreciative inquiry, open space technology, outcome mapping, interest-based problem solving as well as standard process facilitation and strategic planning tools, to meet your business needs and organizational culture.

Strategic Planning & Business Planning:  In addition to more traditional models of strategic and business planning, I utilize a variety of models for Social Impact, Social Enterprise, and Venture Philanthropy to help organizations think about strategic growth.  I offer a full range of services including conducting environmental scans, facilitating strategic retreats and planning committees, developing social impact and logic models and writing strategic and business plans.

Facilitating Capacity Building, Fundraising & Resource Development Initiatives.  With almost two decades of experience working in the nonprofit, public and social sectors, I have a wide range of organizational development, program planning and evaluation skills.  I work with organizational leaders and boards on developing leadership , infrastructure and capacity building, and creating long term resource development strategies.

Process Planning and Assessments: I work with teams and organizations create a clear and compelling view of where they currently are. I use a variety of assessment tools such as key informant interviews, surveys, focus groups, environmental scans, literature and document reviews to achieve this outcome.

Scenario Planning and Goal Setting: I work with teams and organizations create a clear and compelling view of where they want to be. I use more conventional and less conventional facilitation techniques ranging from simple brainstorming exercises to complex open space technology conferences to achieve this outcome.

Process Design and Work Plans: I work with teams and organizations to design systems, workflow and workplans that will help close the gap between where they are and where they want to be. I use tools such as visual diagramming, metaphors, story boards, and technology support systems to achieve this outcome.

Project-based Facilitation: I work with teams and organizations to implement design systems, workflow and workplans. I provide a range of design services to facilitate short-term projects. Such project-based needs might include managing a technology integration process or human resource redesign project. Such project specific facilitation and process management is useful when an outside perspective can bring clarity and focus to the project timeline and process.

Organizational Coaching & Training on Meeting Facilitation: I work with teams and organizations to provide customized training and coaching to improve meeting facilitation. Typically, this service includes: Assessing current culture and meeting practices (using, surveys, observation and process audits), creating templates for meeting planning, agendas, meeting minutes and task tracking tools, providing training of key staff on effective meeting planning and implementation, facilitating 2-3 meetings to model effective practices, observation, coaching and critique of 3-4 additional meetings (could include optional videotaping), and between meetings coaching on meeting planning and process.
