Facilitation & Process, LLC to facilitate strategic board retreat for the Equity Foundation

Supporting and promoting  social justice and equity are clearly at the core of my facilitation practice so I am excited to facilitate the process design and provide on-site facilitation for the strategic planning board retreat for the Equity Foundation.  The  Equity Foundation is a grant-making nonprofit organization that is committed to funding programs dealing with community education, youth and family, health and social services, and arts and culture. The foundation works to promote social justice, education, and welfare of sexual and gender minority communities and of the people of Oregon in general by providing support to non-profit organizations throughout the state.

Facilitation & Process, LLC to help Grantmakers of Oregon and Southwest Washington

I am pleased to announce a new project with Grantmakers of Oregon and Southwest Washington to assist in the development and facilitation of  the agencies annual board retreat.  Grantmakers is one of 32 regional associations across the country and is a membership agency for large, small, private, public, corporate, community  grantmaking organizations.

Strategic Planning  Assistance Expanded with CASH Oregon and New Avenues for Youth

With a Business plan in place, CASH Oregon has asked me to provide assistance on their Executive Director Search Committee and contracted with me to help on furthering their resource development plan.  After facilitating the Board mini-retreat for New Avenues for Youth I have been asked to assist in the facilitation process of finalizing their strategic planning process.

Supporting Portland Children’s Levy – Youth Mentoring Programs

NPC Research of  Portland Oregon was awarded a two-year contract from the Portland Children’s Levy to provide technical assistance related to program evaluation, data collection, analysis and reporting,  for youth mentoring programs funded by the Portland Children’s Levy.  NPC Research has partnered with Facilitation & Process, LLC on this contract.  What I bring to the project is expertise in creating learning communities, nonprofit organizational development, and content expertise in youth mentoring. I will serve as part of the three-member team working with the 10 nonprofit agencies.  What is exciting about this project is the range models being used to deliver quality youth mentoring services.  To systematically improve evaluation practices of this diverse group of agencies will ultimately strengthen the overall practice of youth mentoring in Portland.  I look forward to rolling up my sleeves to help.

Habitat for Humanity Silicon Valley — Capacity Assessment & Board Retreat

Facilitation & Process, LLC has been asked to assist Habitat for Humanity Silicon Valley in conducting a brief capacity assessment and to facilitate the agencies annual board retreat.   Habitat for Humanity Silicon Valley is a solid organization with a bold vision for growth and is facing several great new opportunities.  I am being asked to take a quick pulse of the organizational capacity and design a planning retreat around the outcomes.   I have long admired the work of Habitat for Humanity and am honored to be asked to assist with this project.

Facilitation & Process, LLC Completes a Strategic Business Plan for CASH Oregon

I am wrapping up a 12-week contract to assist the board of  CASH Oregon develop a 3-5 year strategic business plan to guide the agency’s next chapter in growth and expansion. CASH Oregon provides free tax preparation services in the tri-county area in a unique partnership with AARP’s Tax-Aid program   The program has  solid outcome data and is positioned for growth.  The plan presented to the board,  helps the agency clarify its social impact model and develop an organizational, governance and resource development plan to help become an even greater asset to the community.  This plan offers an ambitious but realistic strategy that over the next 3-5 years, will move CASH Oregon from a small local organization  to a multifaceted agency providing a range of financial literacy programs and services statewide as well as advocating for public policies that support lower wage earning families and individuals.

New Avenues for Youth Board Retreat Facilitation

As a part of my work with Social Venture Partners Portland, I will be assisting the Executive Director and Board Chair at New Avenues for youth structure the facilitation process for their board retreat in April.  I will also facilitate the retreat setting.  I look forward to working with such an important agency working to help homeless youth make positive transitions.

Strategic Approaches to Grant Writing Webinar Archived

As a part of the HPCareer.Net Partner Network This Lunch and Learn Webinar series, I presented a sixty minute overview of grant writing strategy with the goals of helping folks : 1) design a strategy for seeking program service grants; 2) create an effective process to manage grant development in a team environment; and 3) list alternative revenue generation strategies to support program services. Facilitation & Process, LLC receives Oregon certification as an Emerging Small Business

Facilitation & Process, LLC received Oregon’s certification as an Emerging Small Business (ESB certification # 6632).  The certification recognizes the firm’s capabilities in the areas of management consulting, strategic planning, non-profit resource development planning, and performance technology support.  It also recognizes the firm’s capabilities in  a range of professional and management development trainings related to facilitation process, technology capacity, non-profit board development, and organizational development.  I am pleased to be able be listed as a certified consulting firm for those agencies and organizations seeking to meet external contracting goals in support of Oregon’s  Minority, Women, and Emerging Small Business (MWSEB) program. Just one more reason to consider the services of Facilitation and Process, LLC the next time there is more at stake than running a good meeting.

Facilitation & Process, LLC giving back to the Community

I am happy to also have the opportunity to give back to the community.  As the a partner with Social Venture Partners Portland, I recently have volunteered to take the lead on a capacity building grant awarded to the Portland Reading Foundation (PRF). The PRF works intensively to help young children with reading difficulties using an in-school paid tutoring model. I look forward  to working with a team of SVPP Partners in working with Portland reading Foundation’s energetic staff and volunteer board on an array of capacity projects over the next two years.  for more information about the SVPP Portland Reading Foundation Project.
